Class 5A Blog: Alexander’s Nimah Ibidunni becoming a star on summer circuit

Nimah Ibidunni is a special talent who plays for the Alexander Lady Cougars in Douglasville, Georgia. She is beginning to gain national exposure as one of the best players in her class.

She is already ranked in the ESPN Super 60 for the 2027 class at No. 46. She is rated as a four-star prospect. Ibidunni is a 6’2 big that is an excellent finisher in the paint and has a polished low-post game that allows her to punish smaller defenders. For defenders that equal her height, she is too quick off the dribble and can get to her spot easily, converting a basket. An underrated part of her game is her ability as a defender. She is also a solid interior defender with good lateral quickness and positioning that allows her to stay in front of her defender and force tough shots.

This past season, she was the leading scorer for the Lady Cougars. Ibidunni averaged 19.7 points, 11 rebounds, two steals, and 1.4 blocks. She hit a season-high 32 points and grabbed 12 rebounds in a close loss to Cherokee. Ibidunni finished the season with six consecutive double-doubles to finish the basketball season scoring 20 points in two of those games. Her excellent performance on the court saw her be named Region 5-5A Player of the Year, and she was also a second-team all-state selection.

Ibidunni already has an offer from UPENN. Some of her other offers include Furman and Buffalo, all which she has picked up this summer with her excellent play at camps and being able to dominate the competition. This summer, she has been running with Elite Hubbard 17U. Ibidunni has already been making her presence felt and did so well at a West Georgia camp that she picked up an offer after the camp was over. She has an Ivy League tour coming up where he will visit UPENN, Columbia, Yale, and Harvard.

Other ranked players in the class of 2027 in-state are Monroe G KieAundria Acree (No. 16), Holy Innocents W Nakhai Worthy (No. 35), Creekside G C’India Dennis (No. 41), and River Ridge F Finlay Parker (No. 53). Ibidunni has the potential to emerge as one of the top players before the 2027 cycle is over, especially if she keeps making noise in the summer circuit.
