Mundy’s Mill 3-star ATH Jeremiah Roux has found his next home as the Jonesboro-native announced his commitment to East Carolina University on Monday night.
Roux was considering offers from places such as Georgia Tech, USF, Appalachian State, and Liberty before announcing his commitment to continue his football career with the Pirates at ECU.
“What stood out to me about ECU was the bond between the players and the energy,” said Roux. “You can definitely tell there’s a strong brotherhood outside of just football with them.”
Outside of the players making Roux feel a part of the team and showing them the family environment around the program, Roux enjoyed what the city of Greenville has to offer and knows he could play his way onto the field earlier than expected.
“What I liked about Greenville was the support for the program, there’s ECU at every corner you turn,” said Roux. “In my next home I was looking for somewhere that gives incoming freshmen a shot at playing and make an immediate impact but also make another family outside of the one I have already.”
At 6-foot-3, 215-pounds, Roux played all over the field for Mundy’s Mill last season, where he proved to be one of the few bright spots for a rebuilding program that went winless in 2024.
Roux played on both sides of the ball last season for Mundy’s Mill where he accumulated the most all-purpose yards on the team with 678 total yards (540 receiving and 45 rushing) on offense while finding the endzone three times a season ago. On defense, Roux totaled the second-most tackles on the team, accounting for 34 total tackles along with a tackle for loss and a fumble recovery.
With one final season of prep football left, Roux knows he has plenty to offer the Mundy’s Mill football program even after his commitment and knows he has one more chance to achieve his goals for himself and his team.
“What I hope to accomplish in my final year of high school is to lead my team to a 1-0 record every week no matter the opponent and leave them better than when I came in,” said Roux.
Roux is the 11th commitment in the Class of 2026 for the East Carolina Pirates as he won’t be the only Georgia-native in the recruiting class as he joins Tucker safety Djimon McLendon, Camden County safety David Coleman Jr., Lovejoy linebacker Chad Fairchild and Grayson wide receiver Dawson Quarterman on the roster next season.
