The Roswell Hornets were firing on all cylinders offensively on the final day of the Brent Key/Corky Kell + Dave Hunter Classic 7-on-7 at Georgia Tech. Wide Receiver Wills Campbell was a big part of that offensive success as the Hornets won the final day of the tournament.
He was very happy to be a part of a Hornets team that won the final day of the 7-on-7 Tournament.
“It feels great”, Campbell said. “We didn’t start out great, we started out 0-3, but I know my team we’re gonna bounce back.”
Campbell was dominant in a lot of one-on-one matchups and did well when the quarterback was pushing the ball down the field. He uses his height as an advantage to leap up above defenders and make catches from passes high up in the air.
He used his leaping ability a ton last season as he caught 42 passes for 718 yards and added nine touchdown receptions. Campbell led all Hornets receivers in touchdown receptions and overall receptions.
Campbell feels confident entering his senior season under first year head coach Jonathan Thompson.
“I’m so excited, these are the boys I have been playing with since third grade”, he said. “I’m here to see us compete, we’ve always been in the playoffs, but I think this is the year we’re gonna be great, so we just got to get everyone on page and keep on doing that.”
Campbell and the Hornets will kick off the 2025 season on the road against the Lambert Longhorns on August 8.
