Creekside DL Amarion Jones commits to Kennesaw State

Kennesaw State landed one of the better defensive ends/outside linebackers you will find in the peach state. Amarion Jones has continued to improve his craft and get better.

“After I went on a great visit to Kennesaw State, I decided to commit. I have a strong relationship with Coach Bradley, and he really welcomed me into the Owl family with open arms,” said Jones. “One of my favorite things about Kennesaw State was the campus. The campus is very nice and has great facilities. The official visit I took was amazing. Everyone showed love the whole time I was there and treated me like family.”

Jones is excited to play for head coach Jerry Mack, who was named just the second head coach in Kennesaw State Owl history this past offseason. Coach Mack was a foundational piece of why Jones committed to the Owls.

“To be able to go to a program and play for a coach like Coach Mack is very exciting and I can’t wait to see what it leads to,” said Jones.

On the gridiron, Jones was a key player for head coach Maurice Dixon and the Seminoles in 2024 in their run to the semifinals before losing to Marist in a close battle. He finished with 43 tackles, nine tackles for loss, and three sacks. He had one of his best games of the season against Drew. In the 63-7 victory, he finished with five tackles, two tackles for loss, two fumble recoveries, and a sack. It was the best season of his career so far, and he was a big member on defense and a part of one of the best the state had to offer.

“I am very excited for the upcoming season, which is also my senior season. My goals for the 2025 season are to be all-state and win the 15th game with my team. It means everything to me to be playing for the Creekside brand. Creekside isn’t just a program, it’s a family,” said Jones.

Why does Jones do what he does? He loves to be a role model to his younger siblings and be someone they can look up to on how to do things the right way.

“My biggest motivation is my little brother. He looks up to me, and I believe that it’s best for me to be great so he can do the same and more. I feel that the best and only way to end my senior season is to win the 15th game with my brothers,” said Jones.

Creekside has been a team knocking on the door for quite some time in hopes of landing a state championship and bringing one back to Fairburn, Georgia. 2025 is easily their most complete roster with elite players at each position, coupled with an emerging star quarterback in Cayden Benson, phenomenal coaching, and Jones, this team has a good chance to win 4A.
