Georgia is one of the best states in the country when it comes to producing talent. Names such as Buford’s KJ Bolden, Mill Creek’s Caleb Downs, and Collins Hill’s Travis Hunter, all started in the peach state before going on to perform at the next level.
The 2027 class has a chance to be the best Georgia has produced in a while. Led by top names like KJ Green (Stephenson), Chance Gilbert (East Coweta), and Justin Weeks (Pace Academy), come to mind when you think of that class. However, arguably the most notable name in the class is Blessed Trinity’s DJ Jacobs.
Jacobs is listed as the third overall player in the class of 2027 according to 247 Sports and is listed as the number one overall edge rusher in the class. The Blessed Trinity star totaled 116 tackles and added 11 sacks as he helped the Titans to a 4A semifinals appearance.

Jacobs holds offers from all around the country and was most recently offered by Clemson.
Jacobs said, “over 50 schools,” have contacted him since June 15th, when the class of 2027 player was officially allowed to be in contact with schools.
“UGA was the first school to contact me, and the first school I called was FSU,” Jacobs detailed.
Jacobs’ dad David Jacobs played at UGA back in the day, so Jacobs has grown up with the Bulldogs.
“I’m thankful for my dad, he put me in a great spot.”
The Florida State Seminoles were the first school to have a call with Jacobs and he views them highly.
“I love coach Norvell, I love his spirit for the game. I love coach Knighton, he is my dawg, and coach Meeks, if you do not know coach Meeks, (you should know) he is a dawg too.”
Jacobs is not the only star in his family. His younger brother Dawson, class of 2028, has also emerged as one of the top players in his class. Dawson had 53 total tackles and 5 sacks as a freshman.
“We definitely want to play together,” noted Jacobs. “We want to play at a school that fits both of us.”
Jacobs also named Tennessee amongst some of the schools he views highly.
“I loved seeing the stadium and the facility.”
When talking about all of the schools, Jacobs added, “I love to meet new people, a big thing to me is the size of the university. You can find good football anywhere, but it matters what people are there.
Jacobs will begin his junior season as his Blessed Trinity team takes on Tri-Cities on August 15th at home.
