In Division 1, No. 1 Marist captured its first state championship in program history after knocking off title favorite No. 2 Allatoona 11-5 in the title game. Allatoona had one of its best chances to capture its first title since 2016, but couldn’t get it done. Going into the playoffs, No. 3 Wesleyan was ranked as the top team but fell to Marsit in a tight 7-6 defeat in the semifinals. The defending champions were looking for a repeat but couldn’t quite get back to the promised land. No. 4 Cambridge solidified itself as a top team and one to watch moving forward after finishing 14-5 and giving Allatoona a run for their money. No. 5 Lovett fell a spot after losing to Cambridge 7-6 in the quarterfinals in a defensive battle. Blessed Trinity, Greater Atlanta Christian, Starr’s Mill, Whitewater, and St. Pius X round out the poll.
In Division 2, No. 1 Roswell completes its three-peat and legacy as one of the best the state has to offer over the past three seasons. The Hornets faced their toughest yet to date but prevailed and knocked off a worthy challenger in No. 2 Lassiter in an exhilarating 13-12 victory. No. 3 Milton fell to Lassiter in the semifinals and finished the season 11-6. No. 4 River Ridge was probably one of the biggest surprises this season, but put the whole state on notice going from unranked to start the playoffs to a top-four team after a semifinal run. After starting the season 2-5, No. 5 Riverwood finished 11-7, making the quarterfinals and giving River Ridge a run for their money in a close loss. North Oconee, Benedictine, Decatur, East Coweta, and Lakeside-Evans finish out the poll. Savannah Country Day, Northgate, and Hebron Christian finish out the poll unranked. Decatur, North Oconee, and East Coweta finish out the poll as ranked teams.
In Division 3, No.1 Lambert won its first state championship since 2022 and is now second in GHSA history with seven titles. They’ve won three of the past five state championships and closed out a perfect season in lacrosse, going 22-0. No. 2 South Forsyth knocked off Mill Creek, Hillgrove, and North Gwinnett en route to the state title game. An unranked team that made quite the jump in the poll. No. 3 Buford matched up with Lambert once again in a high-stakes matchup and fell short 17-4. The Wolves won their first-ever state championship in program history in 2024. No. 4 Mill Creek fell just one spot and had a run to the semifinals, falling one goal short of making the state championship before losing to South Forsyth. No. 5 North Paulding fell at the hands of Mill Creek 11-10 in the quarterfinals but moved up a spot in the final poll. West Forsyth, Hillgrove, Walton, Alpharetta, and North Cobb round out the poll. Brookwood and Carrollton finish unranked in the final poll, and Walton and Hillgrove finish in the top 10.
