The GHSA playoffs are over, and the champions have been crowned. With that, the final rankings are here. The champions fill the top spot in all eight classifications, and the runners-up fill all the No. 2 spots as well.
In 6A, no new teams were added, but Harrison fell and Mill Creek rose in the rankings after a series of strong playoff performances. In 5A, the top of the rankings remained mostly the same after the playoffs, with no teams moving more than one spot. Toward the bottom, there are two new teams in the rankings: No. 8 Loganville and No. 9 Alexander.
The top of the 4A rankings saw only small adjustments, such as Marist jumping Cambridge from No. 3 to No. 2. The second half of the rankings is where the bigger changes occurred. Pace moved up to No. 6, while No. 9 St. Pius and No. 10 Starr’s Mill returned to the rankings for the first time since early in the season.
Class 3A’s biggest shake-up came at the top of the rankings. Oconee County moved up from No. 7 to No. 1 after their playoff run. The Warriors had spent much of the season near the top of the rankings, but a rough stretch dropped them earlier in the year. The only other major shake-up was Cherokee Bluff returning to the rankings at No. 6 following their strong playoff performance.
2A saw very little change. The most notable shift was the return of Coahulla Creek to the rankings. The Colts had a rough end to the season, losing three of their final four games, which had dropped them out of the rankings.
Class A Division I also saw minimal change, with only two new teams entering the rankings. Dade County and Lamar County both earned spots after making runs to the quarterfinals. Division II’s only change was the addition of Claxton to the rankings.
The loaded private school classification remained mostly the same, with the top two teams meeting in the championship game. The only additions were Calvary Day and Athens Academy, who entered at No. 8 and No. 10, respectively.
