The Georgia High School Association Reclassification Committee met Wednesday where it discussed a proposal for a competitive-balance approach to reclassification. Thirteen people voting for shutting down reclassification talks until 2026 and five voted for the continuation of the reclassification discussion this summer.
Since the GHSA voted to stop discussing reclassification until next year, the Class 3A-A private playoff division will remain in effect until at least 2028, pending final approval this fall.

If schools playing larger schools are given more credit points, there is a way for schools to gain the system and make their ranking higher than what it should be.
They settled on ensuring all region champions will host at least one playoff game, meaning the region champion will keep their seeding if they fall in the top 16 seeds. If a region champion is outside of the top 16, they will be moved to the 16th seed and schools will slide down by one.
