Peachtree Ridge Star WR Kobe Adeleke-Hokes Commits To Wake Forest

Kobe Adeleke-Hokes announced his pledge to Wake Forest. Adeleke-Hokes blew up in the spring and before making his decision to be a Demon Deacon and held nearly 30 offers. He chose Wake Forest over Georgia Southern, Minnesota, Arkansas State, East Carolina, Colorado State and several others.

Adeleke-Hokes took an official visit on campus to Wake Forest on June 13th and continued to build rapport with the staff and the team. He is excited to be a part of the rebuild and get the team back to contention in the ACC as it was a few short years ago when it played in an ACC Championship game.

“It’s really exciting and I’m prepared to do whatever I can to help this team be successful. We have lots of great incoming 26′ commits. In the next year or two of the program, we will not be the same program in the past years,” he said.

“I can tell the new staff is going to change this program around and I want to be a part of that. The new offensive scheme they have written up is going to be crazy good, and me being a receiver I know they will use me and develop me well,” said Adeleke-Hokes. “It was really different how much interactive activities that the team did together outside of football. They are really a family.”

With Wake Forest vetting its staff after the 2024 season, new coaches have been hired and come in. At the core of his commitment one coach stands out that was essential to Adeleke-Hokes becoming a Demon Deacon.

“There is a new staff and new WR Coach. His name is Coach Nick Edwards. Our relationship with has been great! We talk a lot and he’s constantly already coaching me up on how I can improve my game for when I come,” said Adekele-Hokes. “Coach Edwards has a great mindset and really knows how to evaluate people down to a mental aspect. The way he talked about forming my mind to where I’ll be unstoppable was something I haven’t heard before from many coaches. He’s sent guys to the league so I have to know his tactics work.”

With the 2025 season upon us, Adeleke-Hokes looks ahead to his final season with the Peachtree Ridge Lions and his goals for the upcoming season.

“I’m going to be the hardest worker, y’all going to get everything y’all can out of me. And my goal is to get to that championship. I want to go deep into the playoffs and be a championship contenders of course. Personally, I am going to shatter all of the Peachtree Ridge and Georgia records,” said Adeleke-Hokes.

Here is what he said about the culture at Peachtree Ridge and playing for head coach Matt Helmerich.

“We continue to work harder than the next team every day and have players and coaches that push each other to be great. Coach Helmerich is a great coach truthfully, he’s always going to be upfront with me and others. He is always having us do fun activities and makes sure we are having fun with all the hard work that we do,” said Adeleke-Hokes.

The Lions have made the postseason every year Helmerich has been at the helm including back-to-back second-round playoff appearances. Peachtree Ridge looks to take that next step with their dynamic playmaker Adeleke-Hokes and the rest of a talented roster to make some noise in 6A.
