Pre-Playoff Boys Lacrosse Rankings

The playoffs are here. So it is time to take a look at the rankings as the postseason is set to begin tonight and tomorrow.

In Division 1, No. 1 Wesleyan went 2-0 this week, picking up wins over George Walton Academy and Greater Atlanta Christian. No. 2 Marist picked up wins over Starr’s Mill and St. Pius X. No. 3 Allatoona went 1-1 this past week, losing to Cambridge but picking up a win over Darlington. No. 4 Lovett went 1-1 this week defeated Greater Atlanta Christian but falling to Lambert 15-0. No. 5 Cambridge saw the biggest jump this week after knocking off No. 3 Allatoona 13-6 and ending the regular season on a six-game winning streak. St. Pius X, Whitewater, Starr’s Mill, Blessed Trinity, and Greater Atlanta Christian round out the poll.

In Division 2, No. 1 Lassiter finished with regular season last week by defeating Pope 11-6. No. 2 Roswell finished the regular season on a six-game winning streak and defeated Blessed Trinity 14-6 and Rockhurst (MO) 16-3. No. 3 Lakeside-Evans hasn’t lost a game since March 18th against Heathwood Hall Episcopal (SC) and hasn’t lost in an in-state game all season. Woodstock and Milton round out the top five. Benedictine, Savannah Country Day, Northgate, Decatur, and Hebron Christian round out the poll.

In Division 3, No. 1 Lambert flexed its muscle this past week against Division 1 No. 4 Lovett, shutting out the state title contender in a 15-0 victory. The Longhorns have finished the season 18-0 and have a good of a chance as any to finish as state champions this season. No. 2 Buford won three of its final four games this season and played one of the toughest schedules this season. Despite the seven losses, they remain a title contender. No. 3 Mill Creek won its final five games this season, scoring double figures in all of its wins. No. 4 Denmark picked up wins over Marietta and Forsyth Central this week. No. 5 North Cobb finished the regular season on a five-game winning streak. North Paulding, Brookwood, Carrollton, West Forsyth, and  Alpharetta round out the poll.
