Valdosta’s Prince Jean commits to Kentucky

Valdosta’s Prince Jean announced where he will be spending the next three-four years earlier this week. The 3-star athlete announced that he will take his talents to Lexington Kentucky to play for the Kentucky Wildcats.

He committed to Kentucky over a list of over 20 offers, which he had narrowed to five: Mississippi State, UGA, Virginia, Kansas State, and Kentucky.

Jean recently visited both Kansas State and Virginia as well as Kentucky over the past few weeks.

He seemed to enjoy his visit to Lexington and he felt like he connected with wide receivers coach L’Damian Washington.

“His (Washington) story is kind of similar to mine and I believe that under his teachings he can help me reach my goals and desires,” Jean told Score Atlanta’s Wesley Powell.

Kentucky went 4-8 last season in the SEC.

Overall, Kentucky just felt like home for Jean.

“I love the city, the connection, and the bond of the players. I love the support system and the developmentally peace that comes with it. And under LD’s wing, I believe he will set me up to get to the next level.”

Jean had 622 receiving yards and seven touchdowns last season as Valdosta went 9-3, falling in the second round of the 6A playoffs.

Valdosta will begin its 2025 season versus Tucker.
