The Class of 2027 has a long list of talented outside and middle hitters that will be stepping into the spotlight for the next two seasons. Still only sophomores, these names will have two more varsity seasons to raise their stock in the recruiting landscape and many are already competing in club volleyball in their preparation for the 2025 season and beyond. Making the list is North Oconee’s 6-foot outside hitter and defensive specialist Addie Stewart. She was named First Team All-Region 8-4A this past season and made a big impact this last season in matches such as North Oconee’s battle with Jefferson where she notched an efficient nine kills.
North Hall’s Abbie Hanlon is another prospect to watch and she has competed with the Lanier Volleyball club in Georgia to fine tune her game. While playing for North Hall, the 5-foot-9 outside hitter has been measured with a 9-foot-5 approach jump and her abilities at the net earned her First Team All-Region in addition to the 2024 Offensive MVP Award for the Trojans.
Another name to watch is sophomore Katie Elder—a multi-sport star in the making for Marist. Elder has already made a name for herself on the basketball court for the talented Marist team and has tremendous potential to come into her own in volleyball as a 5-foot-10 outside and middle hitter. In 2024, Elder tallied 213 total kills on a 40.6% kill rate and she added 196 digs and 35 blocks for a team that went 31-4 overall and advanced to this year’s state semifinal before falling 3-1 to Nationally-ranked Pace Academy.
