Christian Lawrence, a 2026 running back, announced that he will be playing his college ball at Wake Forest.
Lawrence ran for over a thousand yards and 16 touchdowns last season as Thomas County Central went to the 5A quarterfinals.
The TCC product held 30 offers and committed to Wake over Pittsburgh, Arkansas, and more.
Lawrence spoke with Score Atlanta’s Wesley Powell on what he liked about Wake.
“The coaching staff and how it is like a family there, the players and the coaches are cool, and it is a place I can see myself. Also, a Wake degree means a lot anywhere you go. I realized Wake was home when I walked in the building and all the coaches and players just welcomed me and made me feel at home.”
Lawrence has a few things he wants to accomplish his senior season at TCC.
“First of all, I want to go to the Benz and win it all. Secondly, I would like to accomplish getting better as a team day-by-day and lead. Finally, I would like to put up record breaking numbers!”
Thomas County will begin its 2025 play against Monroe Area.
