Rivals 2027 top 150 basketball rankings; which Georgia players made the cut?

Rivals updated their rankings for the 2027 class, releasing their top 150 rankings. Georgia has the second most recruits in the new Rivals top 150 ranking with 12, trailing only Florida, which has the most with 17 prospects cracking the list. Let’s see some of the Georgia players who made the list from 2027.

Woodward Academy Jarvis Hayes Jr- is the highest-rated player in Georgia High Basketball and rightfully so. Hayes Jr is ranked as a four-star prospect and the No. 2 player in the state. He is rated as a 94.27 overall Industry Ranking. For the past few weeks, Hayes Jr has been doing work in the AAU circuit. In a win over Jet Academy, Hayes Jr finished with 22 points in a come-from-behind victory. Just this past weekend with his AAU team, Atlanta Xpress, he scored 21 points. Hayes Jr is an elite three-level scorer who can create off the dribble, spot-up shooter, or play off the ball. Hayes Jr is known for knocking down big shots in some of the biggest games. He did so in the GHSA playoffs against Milton, hitting a game-winner to send his team to the next round of the playoffs. He’s continued to establish himself as the best player in the state for the 2027 class

Hillgrove, Asa Montgomery- Montgomery is the second-highest recruit on the list for Rivals. He averaged 16.7 points, 8.7 rebounds, 1.7 blocks, and 1.4 steals per game last season. The Hawks finished 20-10 and 7-7 before losing to Newton 75-60. Montgomery has been continuing to rise up the boards, picking up notable offers from Georgia State, Kennesaw State, Auburn, Georgia Tech and more. Montgomery is a two-way elite wing that can finish at the rim, create offense, shoot off the dribble, and protect the rim. He can also switch and guard multiple positions and has great lateral quickness. Montgomery has established himself as one of the best two-way players in the peach state.

Tri-Cities, Tre Keith- Keith is already a state champion in 5A after delivering a title back to Tri-Cities, its first since 2022. Keith averaged 18 points, 4.1 assists, and 3.9 rebounds per game in 2024. The summer has also been nice for Keith, who continues to stuff the stat sheet and score at a high level. Keith put up several notable performances in Rock Hill (SC) last week, finishing with 18 points and two assists, and a 23-point outing with three assists versus Midwest BC. Keith has continued to impress colleges and has picked up offers from Georgia, Florida State, Kennesaw State, USF, and Cincinnati. He has been working on his leadership and being more of a vocal leader for his teammates. Defense has also been another component of his game that he has been working on to improve to be a more well-rounded player. Keith is a 4-star prospect and has a top-75 ranking in the 2027 class. I fully expect that ranking to continue to shoot up as the year goes on.

Wheeler, Kevin Savage- Savage has been in the spotlight for quite some time and has continued to deliver in big games. Earlier in the spring, he was putting on a show with Game Elite, knocking down game-winners and scoring at a high level. That has continued to progress throughout the summer for Savage. He guided Game Elite to a 3SSB championship in Rock Hill (SC) last weekend, finishing with 12 points in the title game and a win over Minnesota. Savage has picked up offers from Georgia, SMU, USF, Georgia Tech, Alabama, LSU, Purdue, and more. Savage is no stranger to the big stage as he showed this past season with Wheeler, guiding the Wildcats to a state championship and scoring a team-high 19 points in a victory versus Newton. Savage is already a national name and has the attention of several blue-blood programs in college basketball. It is just the beginning of the story for the standout prospect from Wheeler.

Cross Creek, Frashad Tisby- Tisby picked up his first major offer from South Carolina. He is a fairly new name in the rankings, but he has been a force in the summer, standing out on the Ryze Hoops, the Nike EYBL circuit, and GBCA Live Period. In a session last week, Tisby finished with 20 points, 11 rebounds, and five assists for the Georgia Stars in a win over a notable AAU team, Nightrydas. Tisby is long with his 6-6 wiry frame, and is a great all-around prospect that can clean the glass and score at will. Tisby will be one to watch next season for Cross Creek after leading them to a 27-3 record in 2024.

East Hall, Braydon Langston- The East Hall wing is one of the most intriguing prospects in the 2027 class. He has the ability to score at will and defend at a high level. With his 6-6 and 180-pound frame, Langston is long and athletic. On the defensive side of the ball, he is one of the best wing defenders you will see and uses his athletic frame to send shots to the rafters. Langston is also an excellent on-ball defender. Offensively, he can penetrate the defense, getting to the rim with ease and will throw it down on you. When you try and take away his driving ability, he will make you pay with his silky smooth jumper. He made a highlight reel dunk on the Pro16/NextPro League earlier this summer. It illustrates his potential and the player he can become. The sky is the limit for Langston, and he will be a prospect to continue to follow.

Grayson, Marcus Curry- Curry transferred from Grovetown to Grayson this past offseason and has been a terror during summer play. If you aren’t careful, you might end up as a poster on his highlight reel. His performance at GBCA Live Period got him featured by Overtime, which is one of the biggest media companies in the United States. The 3-star prospect has been impressive throughout the summer, putting together impressive performances. Curry is known for his quick first step and has a great touch around the rim. An underrated part of his game is his ability to pull up from the mid-range and knock it down with regularity. He is also a good defender who can chase down blocks and slow down opposing offenses. He is only rated a 3-star, but I think he will continue to move up the recruiting board with his play this season.
